Mrs. Abel was born May 7, 1922 in the Seaton Community to Edward and Elsie (Schiller) Tomasek. She married Albert Abel and he preceded her in death in 1982. Mrs. Abel was the proprietor of the Swanky Franky Café and Dot's Beauty Shop in Buckholts. She was a member of the Buckholts Brethren Church where she was also a member of the Buckholts Brethren Christian Sisters. Her daughter, Dottie Diane Coufal, and sisters, Martha Jones and Laverne Tomascik also preceded her in death. Survivors include: Son, Albert Abel, Jr. of Ingleside; Sister, Virginia Ezell of San Angelo; 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, also survive.
Mrs. Aguillon, a homemaker, was born January 30, 1926 in Bexar County to Gregorio Valadez and Petra Reyes. She married Alfonso Aguillon and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Full Gospel Church. Three sons, Manuel, Alfred and Santiago and a grandson Aaron Aguillon also preceded her in death. Mrs. Anderle, a retired registered nurse, was born September 24, 1922 in Cameron to Frank and Marie (Kunz) Michalka. She married Walter Anderle and he preceded her in death in 1994. Her son, Stephen also preceded her in death in 1979. She was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church where she had served in the Ladies Society and choir. 3 Brothers and 2 sisters also preceded her in death. Mrs. Arthur, a retired school teacher, was born November 24, 1921 in Denton to Robert B. and Evelyn Pearl (Masters) Neale. She married William F. (Bill) Arthur in Denton on September 2, 1944. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Cameron where she served as Sunday school teacher, greeter and sang in the choir. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Mr. Baggerly, a retired air conditioning serviceman and mechanic was born February 26, 1923 in Milam County to Wiley B. and Lula M. Baggerly. He was a W. W. II army veteran. Survivors include:Sons, Jack Baggerly, Billy Baggerly, and Donald Baggerly, all of Gause; and 3 Grandchildren, also survive.
Mrs. Bailey, a homemaker, was born February 9, 1920 in Madison County to William and Myrtle Belle (Tipton) Pearson. She married Tom Jack Bailey and he preceded her in death in 1995. She was a member of the New Beginnings Tabernacle in Cameron. A grandson also preceded her in death. Mrs. Barkemeyer, a homemaker, was born September 20, 1924 in the Hoyt community of Milam County, to Ora and Ada Pratt. She married Ernest Barkemeyer and he preceded her in death in 1991. Her daughter, Mary Jane Hiney, brothers Cleo and Johnny Pratt and sister, Ola May Barfield also preceded her in death. Mr. Barron, a lifelong rancher and cowboy, was born February 14, 1921 in the Ad Hall community of Milam County to John Lee and Lilly (Kennedy) Barron. He was a United States Army veteran. He married Edith Walton in 1953. He was a member of the Cowboy Hall of Fame. In addition to his being a cowboy, he had worked as a cattle brand inspector. Three children and three brothers preceded him in death. Survivors include: His wife, Edith Barron of Cameron; Son, John Barron and wife Kim of Cameron; and Granddaughter, Ashley Barron, also survive.
Mr. Baskin was born April 23, 1931 in Cameron to A. H. "Dutch" and Artie Leona (Hargrove) Baskin. He married Georgia Ann Streicher on December 28, 1957 and she preceded him in death on November 9, 1999. He retired from Western Electric as a serviceman and currently was a rancher and owner of Baskin Bail Bonds. Mr. Baskin was a U. S. Air Force Veteran, a member of Edwin Hardy Post #9 American Legion and a Methodist. Ms. Beck, a home healthcare provider and medications aid, was born January 4, 1951 in Houston County to Terrell David and Gertrude (Willis) Downs. Her son, Billy Leon Moore, brother, Jimmy Downs, and sister Vinita Downs preceded her in death. Mrs. Billingsley, a homemaker, was born July 25, 1951 in Houston to Erwin and Vaurine (Simpson) Cude. She married Randy Billingsley on February 15, 1969. She was a member of the Trail Drivers Association and the Milam County Genealogy Society. Mrs. Braden was December 27, 1936 in Rockdale to Hosea Lee and Ivie (Dickey) Balckmon. A lifelong resident of Milam County, she married Billy Ray Braden on February 23, 1952. She worked for the Veteran's Café in Temple for several years and was also a newspaper carrier for the Temple Daily Telegram. She was a member of the Battetown Baptist Church. Her daughter, Lisa Aynn Williams preceded her in death. Mr. Brown was born October 19, 1924 in Lott to Eldridge Lamar and Margie Ann (Leatherman) Brown. He married Irene Jody Murphy Conrad March 20, 1986 and she preceded him in death in 2006. He was an army veteran of W. W. I I and the First Assembly of God Church in Davilla. A brother, Eldridge Brown preceded him in death. Survivors include: Step-sons, James L. Mr. Burnett, retired owner of Joe Burnett's Bowling Supply in Houston, was born July 9, 1917 in Milam County to Julian H. and Mabel "Anderson" Burnett. He was a graduate of C. H. Yoe High School. Mrs. Chamberlain was born March 15, 1924 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She married Gray Chamberlain December 29, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2005. She had worked as office manager of Ft. Worth Mortgage in Waxahachie for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cameron. She was instrumental in heading the blood drives in Cameron from 1988 thru 1996 and she was a scout and brownie leader in her younger years. Seven brothers and sisters also preceded her in death. Mr. Crouch was born February 3, 1921 in Gause to Lonnie and Leona (Taylor) Crouch. He attended Gause and Cameron schools. Wesley married Lois Noey on December 6, 1940 and she preceded him on May 24, 2007. He worked for Melvin Ford dairy, drove a truck for Fairmont and also worked for Matula Grocery in Cameron. He then went to work for Lone Star Gas and retired from there after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Rockdale Full Gospel Chapel. Three brothers and 4 sisters also preceded him in death. Mr. Cunningham was born June 14, 1946 in Brownwood to David Earl and Shirley Nell (Pudig) Cunningham. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He married Jill Westerman in 1970. He retired from TXU. Mr. Cunningham was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Rockdale Gun Club. A granddaughter, Shelby Krenek and a brother, Mike Cunningham preceded him in death. Mr. David, was born January 5, 1925 in Linnton, Oregon to Joseph J. and Eva (Michalik) David. He moved to Cameron with his family in 1934 and moved to Temple in 1995 after his retirement from Central Butane Gas Company. He was a graduate of C. H. Yoe High School. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Two sisters, Antonie Stanislaw and Martha David precede him in death. Survivors include: Sisters, Edith Vaculin of the Yarrellton Community, Emilie Sevcik of El Campo and Mary Ann Plachy of Cameron; 5 nieces and 5 nephews, also survive.
Carolyn, a homemaker, was born in January 11, 1915 in Houston to Thomas Oscar and Frances Rebecca (Chandler) Shaw. She married Don Dexter on October 29, 1971. In her younger years she had worked as a restaurant cook. She was a Baptist. A granddaughter, Katie Paige Grosshans and a brother Tommy Shaw preceded her in death. Mr. Dodd, a farmer and rancher, was born August 30, 1920 in Blue, Oklahoma to Vernon and Annie (Hauk) Dodd. He married Leola Behne October 6, 1941. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cameron and President of the Milam County Farmers Union. Two sisters, Mary Filadelfia and LaVerne Griffin preceded him in death. Mr. Duncum was born January 24, 1916 in Cameron to Isaac and Dora Alice (McCall) Duncum. He was a 1935 graduate of C.H.Yoe High School. He married Bertha Baylor. He owned his first business, a service station, while still in high school. He was employed by John Sapp at Sapp Motor Co. and after serving in the US Army in WWII, purchased the business from his mentors John and Helen Sapp. In 1959, he closed Duncum Motors, a DeSota/Plymouth dealership, when he purchased the John Deere dealership. He retired in 1975. Mr. Duncum has served his community as Cameron Mayor for two terms, six years as a member of Cameron ISD Board of Trustees and Board President for five years. He is a member of the Church of Christ where he served as an elder both in Cameron and Milam County Church of Christ. Mr. Fletcher was born December 15, 1932 in Cameron to William Henry and Marie (Roetscke) Fletcher. A service station owner in Cameron for many years, Mr. Fletcher was a U. S. Navy Veteran. He also worked for Sanders Service Station and the Varsity Inn Motel. He was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church and American Legion Edwin Hardy Post #9. A brother Byron Fletcher preceded him in death. Mrs. Folschinsky, a retired beautician, was born December 20, 1911 in Rosebud to Pete and Anna (Lesikar) Machacek. She married Lee Roy Folschinsky and he preceded her in death in 1999. Mrs. Fuchs, a homemaker, was born November 28, 1912 in Lott to Elo and Josephine (Walschak) Geistmann. She married Johnnie P. Fuchs on June 20, 1934 and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2003. Early in her life she taught school in the Cyclone and Ad Hall communities. She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church where she faithfully served in the Ladies organization. She had been a past member of Home Demonstration and a 4-H leader. Survivors include: Daughter, Jeannette Glaser of Rogers; 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, also survive. Mr. Galfas, a retired district salesman for Seaboard Systems for 42 years, was born March 27, 1915 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to George and Eugenia (Basil) Galfas. He married Katherine Sellars. A brother, Chris Galfas and a sister, Louise Edwards, preceded him in death. She married Count Galfas on March 27, 1938 and he preceded her in death in April 2007, they were married for 69 years. Mrs. Galvan, a homemaker, was born December 29, 1922 in Gonzales County to Luciano and Rosa (Lopez) Sosa. She was married for over 60 years to Juan Galvan who preceded her in death earlier this year. She was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church. Her son, Jimmy Galvan, a brother Dionicio Sosa, and two sisters Maria Gonzales and Lupita Sosa also preceded her in death. Army veteran of World War II, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled Veterans. Mr. Glaser was a member of the Cameron Church of Christ. Mrs. Gleason, a teacher and principal in the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, was born March 21, 1937 in Pine Forrest to Marion Eugene and Doris (Minter) Moore. She married V. T. "Tommy" Gleason on February 23, 1957 and he preceded her in death in 1999. She was a member of the Tomball United Methodist Church. Survivors include: Daughters, Julie Gleason Pye of College Station and Terri Gleason Brooke of Tomball; Step-son, V.R. Randy Gleason of Missouri City; Sisters, Ruby Sue Morrow of San Antonio and Marian Faucett of Houston; Brother-in-law Pat Gleason of Glendale, MO; 5 grandchildren, also survive.
Mr. Gootee was born June 20, 1921 in Okmulgee, OK to Walter and Marguerite (Schick) Gootee. His family moved to Corpus Christi in 1938 where he graduated high school. He began working for the postal service and then enlisted in the Army Air Corps after Pearl Harbor. He was trained as an air traffic controller and stationed at Spence Field in Moultrie, GA. He married Martha Tilghman in 1942 and they remained in Georgia until after the war. They returned to Corpus Christi where he worked for the postal service until 1976, retiring there as a station superintendent. He and Martha and their youngest son, Bruce, moved to Cameron in 1977. He was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church for 30 years. His wife preceded him in death in 2003 and his oldest brother Merton also preceded him in death. Survivors include: Sons, Bill (Ervin) Gootee of Gonzales and Lt. Col. Marine Corps during WWII, serving in the Pacific Theatre. On July 8, 1950 L. W. married Clio Rae Dickey and they settled in Houston. After retirement, they moved to their ranch outside of Cameron. After returning to Central Texas, he participated in several Temple Civic Theater productions. He was also an active member of the MENSA Society. He pastored churches in California, Texas and Heidelberg, Germany. After retiring from the ministry, he settled in Austin and was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church. Mr. Perkins retired from TXU in 1991 after 36 years of service both in Rockdale and the Fairfield plants. Mr. Titsworth, a school teacher, was born May 14, 1955 in Cameron to Cornelius "Bo" and Slyvia (Love) Titsworth. He married Susan Griffin on June 7, 1981. He taught school in Corpus Christi until his and Susan's recent arrival to Temple. Mr. Tomasek, a retired blacksmith with Sebesta Blacksmith Shop, was born May 23, 1915 in Milam County to John and Mary (Kopecka) Tomasek. He was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church. Survivors include his sister Milady Summer of Temple.
Mr. Tomek, a retired farmer and rancher, was born May 10, 1919 in Cameron to Frank and Annie (Chernosky) Tomek. He married Hattie Grygar. Mr. Tomek was a member of St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and K. J. T. Seven siblings preceded him in death. Mr. Trubee, a self-employed salesman, was born April 7, 1928 in Cameron to Leroy Adolph and Essie (Dean) Trubee. He married Mary Holtkamp. He was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Cameron, a member of San Andres Lodge #170 A.F. & A. M. and a member of Rosebud Lodge #745 A.F. & A.M. Mrs. Tucker, a homemaker, was born March 20, 1919 in Milam County to Nathan Monroe & Deana (Ayers) Elliott. She married Ray Tucker on May 20, 1943 and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cameron. A grandson, James Keratsopoulos, Jr. also preceded her in death. Mrs. Wimmer, a homemaker, was born February 14, 1918 in Cameron to Richard and Philomena (Jistel) Lehnert. She was a member of the VFW Post 2010 Ladies Auxiliary and the St. Monica's Ladies Society. She is preceded in death by her husband Herbert Wimmer in 1969 and Brothers Albert Lehnert and Roman Lehnert and Sister Estelle Kleiber. Survivors include: Brother, Ervin Lehnert & wife Florence of Annapolis, Maryland; Sister, Rosalie Mueck of Cameron; Sister-In-Law, Bernardine Lehnert of Cameron; Numerous nieces and nephews, also survive.
Mr. Wise was born May 8, 1923 in the Hanover Community of Milam County to William and Bernice (Dodson) Wise. He married Ruby Elizabeth Wise and she preceded him in death in 1995. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the 3rd Street Church of Christ. A sister, Helen McLane, also preceded him in death.
